It’s Volunteer Week across Victoria, and we’re tipping our hats to the unsung champions among us who roll up their sleeves and give back to their communities without any fuss or fanfare.
At GreenCon, we’re proud to have a number from our team who volunteer away from work. They put in the hard yards during the day, then head out to help serve their communities in all manner of different guises, and for different organisations.
This week, we’re proud to recognise the outstanding contributions of Brayden Crow, whose community service stretches far beyond the job site.
Brayden joined the Cobden CFA in October 2005, aged just 17 – balancing his early volunteer duties with a cabinetry apprenticeship, which he completed four years later.
Nearly 20 years on, he remains a cornerstone of the brigade, currently serving as both Lieutenant and Training Officer – roles he’s held for around a decade. His dedication, leadership and operational knowledge have shaped the brigade and helped build the next generation of volunteers.
In 2023, Brayden was awarded the prestigious National Medal, recognising more then 15 years of diligent service with the CFA in helping protect life and property under hazardous conditions. The medal is a very high honour, reserved for emergency service personnel who consistently serve with skill, commitment, and reliability. It is not awarded lightly – and Brayden earned it the hard way.
His community spirit doesn’t end at the fire station. A long-time member of the Cobden Cricket Club, he served as club president for a few years in the 2000s and continues to serve as a committee member – supporting local sport with the same steady energy he brings to everything he does.
Since joining GreenCon in 2011, he’s balanced his professional role with his passion for community service, always showing up when it matters. His calm-under-pressure leadership style and strong work ethic are hallmarks of both his professional and volunteer efforts.
We’re proud to have Brayden on our team – and even prouder to celebrate his extraordinary contribution to the Cobden community this Volunteer Week.
