Project description
AAG Management Investment (AAGMI) has an investment strategy which focuses on core and core + agriculture in Australia’s primary dryland and horticultural farming zones.
When the opportunity arose to purchase Cooriemungle Dairies in 2019 AAGMI saw potential in the business, fully aware that they would need to upgrade the existing 45-year-old rotary dairy. Prior to this, the farm was an established family business milking 500-cows near Timboon in Southwest Victoria.
AAGMI and GreenCon have history, having previously built rotary dairies for AAGMI in Southwest Victoria. For this project, GreenCon was commissioned to build a new 60-unit rotary dairy, including a 32m by 25.4m steel framed shed, rotary platform, office facilities, dairy yards and drafting facilities on a greenfield site.
Preliminary work commenced in 2020, including a full design of the rotary dairy shed and the provision of other key requirements, including permits, insurance statutory fees, site establishment and surveys. GreenCon were also on site for earthwork supervision and supply of specifications.
Construction work commenced in 2022 with the new Cooriemungle Dairy facility commissioned and working in June 2023.
