For the first time in our history we’re attending the Warrnambool and District’s Careers Expo at the Warrnambool Greyhound Racing Club on Tuesday, 5 March.
We’re going to be there along with almost 60 other businesses coming from all across the southwest for what should be a truly energy filled day. (As of writing there’s almost 700 students registered to attend!)
The Expo is into its second year, and is presented by Matt Porter from the Neil Porter Legacy along with the Warrnambool and District Careers Teachers Association.
It aims to get employers’ messaging out to potential employees who reside in the region – and more specifically, students at school who may just be starting to think about what sort of career they may want to take a shine to.
The Expo will provide the platform for businesses to connect with an audience who may not necessarily have much, if any, of an idea about what a particular business does and the industry it works within – so the Expo provides the chance for us to tell that story.
The list of businesses attending reads like a A-through-Z of southwestern employment opportunities.

“The support from businesses and schools has been amazing. Not only have we got a wide range of industries represented for students to learn about and consider as future careers, but we’ve got businesses who are genuinely interested in helping students make informed career-based decisions and to launch their future careers.”
